Ruby to crimson in colour. The nose is dominated by raspberries and cherries. A vinous character combines with elegant, ripe notes. Beautifully balanced on the palate, with fresh and ripe flavours complementing one another and mature tannins providing a supple texture. The finish is lively and very clean.
Perfect with all kinds of seafood and freshwater fish, or simply as an aperitif for refreshment on warm summer days.
- climate
-
The Racha region has a temperate continental climate, with mild but very sunny summers. Winters can be extremely cold, with heavy snowfall. Rainfall is regular, while the harvest period generally remains dry.
- soil
-
A stony topsoil of alluvial origin overlies a thick layer of soft carbonate rock (limestone). The vineyards lie at an altitude of 750–800 metres.
- vinification
-
100% Aleksandrouli, a grape variety typical of the Racha region. After harvesting, the grapes are destemmed, sometimes only partially. The must ferments at 22–25°C, with maceration lasting a maximum of 10–15 days. Malolactic fermentation is generally avoided to preserve the wine’s freshness and highlight its authentic varietal character. Once the wine has developed harmony and full expression, it is prepared for bottling.
