More information about 'Zonneweelde'
Breedekloof is one of the youngest wine regions in South Africa and was mainly known for its bulk wines. In collaboration with Slanghoek Winery, Zonneweelde aims to offer a range of wines that can compete with the better wines from appellations such as Stellenbosch, Paarl, Darlington and other well-known regions.
Currently, the Breedekloof wine region consists of only 22 producers. Together, they aim to significantly raise the quality of their valley. Zonneweelde and Slanghoek are among the pioneers in this effort. The top wines of Zonneweelde Vineyards are produced in limited quantities and come from the best parcels in the vineyard.
The grapes are hand-picked and carefully selected, and are crafted and aged in the manner expected of premium wines. For cellar master Pieter Carstens and his team, Zonneweelde represents a major challenge and the pride of the Breedekloof Valley.
