Meinert Vineyards - (South Africa)

Wine is my means of expression, not just of myself but also such tangible aspects as our sites. As a young man I worked by chance for a few years as a journalist. I think I was searching for an artistic outlet and fortunately found it in winemaking, which began as a fascination with the product. Though I still dream of exploring other artistic endeavours I remain excited by the challenge of trying to make great wines. The quest is a very personal one to share distinctive wines and their stories with our friends and customers. – Martin Meinert

Dense deep fresh red colour. The nose shows red 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon, Meinert Dense deep fresh red colour. The nose shows red berries, typical Cabernet herbs, spicy toasty oak and tobacco. Mouth filling and weighty but not clumsy on the palate, finishes crisp and lingering.

Deep, densely coloured, brick red with purple tints. Classical wild berry, cedar and cigar aromas are well supported by sweeter, plumy, mulberry whiffs. A big, rich wine that nevertheless already has a silky, velvety mouth feel and despite its power retains a fine and elegant core.
