2021 Château Planères La Romanie - Elevé en fûts de chêne Malvoisie 95% / 5% Vermentino- Côtes du Roussillon 0.75 Ltr. Blanc
picture of

Beautiful, bright golden yellow color. The nose is dominated by ripe yellow fruit and accompanied by a nicely balanced intertwined wood note. In the mouth it is rather powerful and creamy without losing elegance and finesse. A lovely fresh acidity keeps the wine interesting and interesting. In the final, its complex and refined character is simply continued. This wine requires some rich or opulent preparations.

Culinary style that calls for rich dishes such as hearty fish preparations with accompanying sauce, a typical Roussillon dish such as Anchovies from Collioure with peeled pepper, Sweetbreads with mushrooms or a tasty Bresse chicken with a cream sauce, for example.

climate

Located between the Pyrenees and the Mediterranean Sea, the climatic conditions are quite harsh. Winds from the North, from the mountains and from the Mediterranean Sea cause extreme weather conditions. Very warm with cooling and precipitation from the mountains where day and night temperatures can vary greatly. Winter can be quite cold with regular precipitation.

soil

Stone-rich plateau near Saint-Jean-Lasseille. Poor sandy soils with predominantly lime in the soil. The roots must go so deep here that they are also supplied with sufficient water during periods of prolonged drought.

vinification

This late-blooming grape is picked in the cool of the night to avoid as much oxidation as possible and preserve its fresh character. Cold maceration, débourbage and fermentation at low temperatures in inox cuves. Since 1980, this almost forgotten grape variety has been on the rise again. It gives the white wines strength and structure and ensures more storage capacity.
