2019 Pyren Vineyards Reserva - Very Limited Production Union 0.75 Ltr. Red
picture of

Superb blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot. Shiny, ruby red color. The nose is delicate and complex. We discover blueberries, laurel, white pepper, heather and graphite. Sumptuous and elegant character, which settles at the same time juicy and velvety in the mouth and culminates in a long refined finish. Cool climate with a warm disposition.

You can of course combine typical Australian meat dishes such as Emu and Kangaroo, but a nice piece of beef, preferably on the barbecue will certainly do the trick. Leg of lamb or chops are also highly recommended.

climate

Hot, dry summers that require drip irrigation. In the afternoon and at night, the vineyards are cooled by a southern sea breeze and the height of the vineyards. Winters can be cold with more precipitation than summer.

soil

Poor sandy soils with slate, quartz and clay at 350-400m altitude.

vinification

Malbec 34%, CS 30%, CF 23%, Petit Verdot 12% and Shiraz 1%. The Malbec ferments as complete bunches, the rest of the grapes ferment de-stemmed and separately in open vats. The blend is then made and it rests further in large wooden barrels for 12 months. Then the wine is bottled.
